History

Back in 2005 husband and wife graphic designers Brian and Nicola Copeland decided the time had come to set up on their own. Brian was working as a senior designer at one of Edinburgh’s top digital agencies and Nicola was continually frustrated by her job at a local authority and all the red tape involved. The aim was to work with small clients, local authority departments who outsourced their design work, museums and generally those without the budget to approach a larger agency but who really needed a strong creative response to their brief.

The result was called North & East. Alas the marriage didn’t survive the first year of trading, but the business did – in fact it has outlived the marriage by 200% (at the time of writing). In turn we rebranded as Graphic Clinic and relocated to London after 18 months of trading.

In that time we helped Nucleus Financial get off the ground, guiding them through the creation of a brand framework, company naming, identity creation, online trading platform build and much more. We worked for the National Galleries of Scotland producing work for their ongoing exhibitions as well as a host of small business who benefitted from our big agency experience.
