The Development at Coodham

The mansionhouse, estate grounds and the lake have all been restored and added to, to create a wonderful environment for luxury classic contemporary country living. Having fallen into ruin, this once fabulous mansionhouse is today restored to its former glory. The attention to detail is second to none; stonework, roof restoration, woodwork, plasterwork and marble flooring demonstrate the skills employed. Local craftsmen using the finest materials from home and abroad have worked with Turkish marble, African oak, West Coast quarried pink sandstone to recreate the exterior and construct the entirely new interior. Plasterwork in a style reminiscent of Adams and rarely in evidence today features in the grand entrance hall and cupula and within the showflat cornicing.

The grounds and gardens have enjoyed the same attention to detail and are today a horticultual delight presenting the rare spruce and bamboo in an environment that features over 4km of walkways around the lake and through the woodlandsto be enjoyed by residents for walking and relaxing.

The lake has been dredged, cleared and stocked with fish. Islands have been created and the lake and grounds now provide a stuning focal point, exceptional views and attracts a variety of birds and wildlife.
